A small handmade wooden box with a sliding lid. Slide it open and a rubber spider on a spring jumps at your hand. Leave it on the kitchen counter labeled "open me" and wait. Resets in two seconds, works a hundred times, and it is the one prank that gets adults as reliably as kids.
